Sounds like a BNLs song. But, it has been a week since my friend at Revenue Canada called. I am feeling good today. Had a couple of good orders for my publishing company and an unexpected $100 came to me out of the blue--legally I might add!
So, I'm at $3,957.60 raised in one week. About $2,000 short of the target but I will make up the difference next week!
Have a good weekend.
How to Make $30,000 in 30 Days

Had a Bad Day...
Everyone needs a day to forget and this is it. Engine light came on for no reason--back to the dealer--internet died, tried to get a pay as you go rocket, the store was out. Found on at another store and it didn't work. No cheques in the mail. It was a day of walls. But, luckily, that is the past and the future holds unlimited possibilities.
So, today's takings - $26.20, taking my total up to 3,673.54. However, there are still 25 days left to reach my $30,000 goal.
Let me know about your bad days...and what strategies you use to turn them around! I'd love to hear.

Day 4
$961.31 is what I received from A/R today. That brings me up to a grand total of $3,647.34. That only leaves $26,352.66 to go!
Tip for today. Find things (other than my body or body organs) to sell. Kijiji seems to be a good site. So, I'm going to put up my wedding ring (from the first marriage) and my silver flute. This seems a little more concrete than just quitting Starbucks. So, I'll let you know how it goes.
One of my friends had a great idea of publishing a free magazine for college students with coupons and resources for those new to town--just sell the advertising. Will think on this one too! She is a clever girl.
If you had to sell things to raise money fast, what would they be?

Day 3
It is day three and this is what I've done so far:
1. Quit Starbucks cold turkey. I have vowed not to pay for one more tall soy green tea latte until Mr. Harper and his government have their cut (sorry Starbucks)
2. Quite my gym membership.
Other than that I don't have any luxuries...other than the occasional Lululemon article of clothing. I have removed their website from my favourite links.
To bring in some extra money, I've started to send away queries to magazines as I used to write a lot. I have a bunch of skills that might bring in a little extra cash.
1. I am a photographer
2. I am a writer
3. I own a small publishing company
4. I have graphic design skills (can design anything print)
So, if you have some ideas how I can use this skill set to make money pronto, please post here!
Hey, one more thing...our only car just went into the shop today and the transmission/clutch is gone...$1,300 bill. Perfect timing!
So, day three, here's the scoop. Some A/Rs came in so here's the talley:
$2,686.03--a long way to $30,000 but a respectable start!
If you are reading this, please send all the best vibes possible to help the Canadian Government receive what I owe them! If I get out of this mess, I will NEVER get behind in my taxes again!

Revenue Canada is No Longer My Friend.
Okay. I get it. I haven't paid all my taxes but we had an arrangement...or so I thought! The woman on the phone was less than nice but then, again, I wouldn't want her job for anything. I owe them money. But to call me on a Friday night right before a relaxing weekend to say they will no longer honour our arrangement was a bit of a low blow. They want the full amount paid in full in 5 weeks.
It doesn't matter that my husband hasn't been getting paid, or that the economy is in a down turn or that my grown up kids rely heavily on my help to get them by. It doesn't matter that the bank will not loan me any more money or that coming after my assets will just cause bankruptcy and then they have no chance of getting their money. No, none of it matters. It is a black and white situation. And, what tipped them off to call it all in on a 5 week deadline? Money came out of my account and went into an RRSP. Eeek. Let this be a lesson to me--don't ever try to save money!
So, what am I going to do? Here are 10 options that crossed my mind:
1. Jump off a tall building
2. Beg my 81 year old parents for some funds
3. Sell everything I own...including my body (unfortunately I probably wouldn't get much for it)
4. Cry
5. Move to Mexico and risk possible tax evasion
6. Cry some more
7. Try to find a loan shark (do you know of any?)
8. Cry a little bit more
9. Hurry up and claim bankruptcy NOW
10. Cry.
However, this isn't my style. I'm a fighter. So, I am going to try to bring in $30,000 in 30 days. Hard to believe a self-employed middle income chick with a big mortgage can do, but stranger things have happened.
I know this isn't the end of the world and there are others much worse off than I am. I'm not starving to death, dealing with HIV or living in a war ravaged country. I am blessed and gratitute I do have. However, that won't stop me from realizing my potential.
So, this is my journey. I'm going to show you and all you lovelies in cyberspace that anybody, if motivated enough, can legally make $30,000 in 30 days. I will chronicle my journey and keep a running total. I will tell you what I'm doing and what skills I am pulling on to make it happen and maybe some of my tips and struggles will inspire others to follow their goals, regardless of how impossible they may seem.
I am also asking for your suggestions! I'd love to hear what you can to say. I will also report and running total so you can see how my efforts are panning out. At the end of this I'll either be 'tax-free' or in jail. My vote is for 'tax free'.
Come with me to let Revenue Canada who's boss!
